Updates

Connect the repository.

Updates come from our signed APT repository at anti-pop.com/nox. apt checks every package against our key — nothing is installed unless you run an upgrade.

Key fingerprint “Nox OS Updates”

A2E8 BCD2 1798 286F 07F7 4C06 84FA C3C7 E630 9B10

On Nox OS the repository is already connected: press “Update” in Backups.

Download the signing key

curl -fsSL https://anti-pop.com/nox/nox-archive-keyring.gpg \
  | sudo tee /usr/share/keyrings/nox-archive-keyring.gpg > /dev/null

Check the fingerprint

The output must show A2E8BCD21798286F07F74C0684FAC3C7E6309B10. If it doesn’t, stop.

gpg --show-keys /usr/share/keyrings/nox-archive-keyring.gpg

Nox OS

Before you install Nox.

What you’ll need, how to make the USB stick and how to make sure the image is genuine.

Requirements

  • 64-bit PC (x86-64) with UEFI
  • Secure Boot can stay on
  • 4 GB RAM or more (8 GB recommended)
  • 12 GB of free disk space minimum; 50 GB or more is comfortable
  • USB stick of 8 GB or more — it will be erased

Write the USB stick

  • balenaEtcher (Windows, macOS, Linux): Flash from file → choose the stick → Flash.
  • Rufus (Windows): partition scheme GPT, target UEFI; choose “DD image” mode if asked.
  • dd (Linux) — double-check the device name:
sudo dd if=nox-os.iso of=/dev/sdX \
  bs=4M status=progress oflag=sync

Check the checksum

Compare the result with the SHA-256 published above. They must match exactly.

# Linux
sha256sum nox-os.iso
# macOS
shasum -a 256 nox-os.iso
# Windows (PowerShell)
Get-FileHash nox-os.iso
Installing next to Windows: back up your data first. The installer shows every partition it will change and asks before it writes anything.
